Year Update
December 21, 2024
As I reflect on 2024 and look back at the key moments of the year, I felt compelled to share with you where I stand at the end of 2024 and what the plans for 2025 are.
2024 has been a year filled with significant learning opportunities for me, especially as a leader and business owner.
I love watching my clients commit to a new standard of working or a bold vision, and supporting them as they navigate the fears and insecurities that arise when venturing into the unknown—learning to trust their own nature. This year (like every year for the past 7), I tasted some of my own medicine.
What We Did in 2024:
Retreat Center: We committed to exploring a retreat center and lived there for 6 months.
Building a Team: Built a team of 6 people to execute the new vision, and create a brand and operations that reflect that vision.
Community Building: Launched and built an online community.
Being Business Programs: Led 2 successful Being Business programs and one Being Business retreat.
Personal Life: Got married.
Letting Go: Concluded the retreat idea and let go of 5 people from the team.
Relocation: Moved to Switzerland.
Focused Growth: Focused on 1 employee and grew massively with her (thank you, Nirvana!).
Learning: I joined 2 high-level masterminds and received ongoing coaching with my mentor, Ria.
Skills: Learned extensively about marketing, sales, building online funnels, content, networks, and community.
Listening to Myself: I forgot everything I learned about marketing and sales to listen to my own voice.
Simplification: Left the two masterminds and let go of 80% to focus on quality over quantity.
What I Let Go of (80%):
- Marketing efforts not aligned with sharing depth.
- 3 social media platforms.
- People (clients, members, collaborations, and groups) who were no longer aligned with the vision.
- Doing work that didn’t directly connect with clients or potential clients in our ideal client demographic.
- Delegating everything that isn’t writing, speaking, coaching, or developing our methodology.
- The need for confirmation.
- The desire to be liked.
- My need to be busy.
- The high-level masterminds.
- Letting go of control by handing over significant responsibility to Nirvana (my COO) and my growing team.
Focusing on the 20%:
My Clients: Committing to the quality of service.
My Team: Developing Nirvana as a leader and operations manager.
Commitment: Focusing on the level of commitment and involvement that produces real results.
My Friends & Family: Prioritizing connection and balance.
We raised the commitment level within our community.
We raised commitment in terms of pricing for all programs and offerings.
We stopped being busy and instead focused on high-leverage activities.
Looking Ahead to 2025:
2024 has been one of the most transformational years of my life. I've had more "failures" than in many past years, but I’ve learned more than ever before. It feels like I compressed the learnings of a 3-year startup phase into 6 months.
With new clarity, I walk into 2025:
Clarity on what we do: Transforming leaders and organizations.
Clarity on who we serve: Owners and leaders who are done playing their current game.
Clarity on who I work with: A team of heartfelt, high-service people who create quality and depth wherever they go.
Every experience we go through offers greater clarity on what works and what doesn’t work for us.
But it takes courage to act on that clarity. It requires letting go of what no longer aligns with where we’re heading.
As I help my clients shed their old identities, I walk alongside you in doing my own work.
What’s Coming in 2025:
2025 will be a year of transformation—not through more activity or effort—but by aligning with the quiet voice inside that knows where the next step is, even if it never tells you exactly what you’ll get by taking it.
What are you being nudged to do?
What can you let go of that no longer serves you?
Who would you be if you let go of everything that isn’t 100% aligned?
Enjoy your time with family and friends.
